About Meat Church

The formal brand name is Meat Church. Matt Pittman locates the spark for his barbecue interest in Central Texas, where a bite of salt-and-pepper brisket gave him a lasting reference point for the craft.

Long before competitions, Matt Pittman cooked with Grandma June in Alabama and absorbed her preference for food that was simple and full of flavor. Backyard gatherings then became a route into barbecue competitions.

That growing commitment brought Matt Pittman to BBQ Pitmasters. Product development followed the same journey: Meat Church Holy Cow was Matt Pittman's first rub.

Learn guidesThe learning side of Meat Church keeps the story practical: share methods, use purpose-built seasonings, and help a wider barbecue community cook with more confidence.
